This webinar is an introduction to radon mitigation for homebuilders in Manitoba who wish to develop their expertise in mitigating radon concentrations within residential buildings.

Radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas, poses a potential health risk when elevated concentrations are present indoors. As part of the responsibility to create safe living environments, contractors will learn the basics of interpreting radon test results and implementing effective mitigation strategies, particularly in new home construction, but with additional strategies for existing developments.

The webinar introduces some of the risks of radon, best practices, considerations in the construction of radon mitigation systems, and how to apply recommendations from the National Building Code of Canada and applicable provincial building codes.
